Camper
Program:
It’s all about the
campers at Camp Darom. From the minute they get on the bus
heading for Natchez Trace State Park, camp begins. Every day
is loaded with activities and programming. Camp Darom is especially
fitting for first-time campers. The warm, homey environment
at camp makes it easy for the camper to fit-in and enjoy themselves.
The session includes exciting
weekly trips both in and out of state, with a final weekend
Shabbaton at a resort hotel in Mississippi. This has been
one of the major highlights of camp in the past. The session
also includes in-camp activities such as Color War, Israeli
Army Day, Nature Day, BBQ/Kumzitz’s, and Israel Day.
During the course of the
month the campers will also have the opportunity to participate
in special activities within the park. These include Horseback
Riding, Canoeing, Paddle Boating, and Hayrides.
Every day the campers are
able to choose from a wide array of specialized activities,
known as Chugim. The carefully tailored Chugim tap into the
creativity of each child. Campers are able to choose from
sports, drama, Israeli army, arts and crafts, guitar, and
Torah reading (for our pre-Bar Mitzvah campers), each led
by a highly-skilled staff member.
