Natchez
Trace State Park has been the home to Camp Darom for the
last six years. The facilities are modern, clean, and air-conditioned.
Our main building serves as the dining hall and Beit Knesset,
and contains a number of smaller rooms which serve as space
for additional indoor activities. The building houses the
camp’s fully kosher kitchen, where a professional staff
prepares delicious and nutritious meals. Camp Darom prides
itself on serving high quality, home-style food. Meals throughout
the summer have special themes – such as Chinese Night,
Mexican Night, and Southern Style Night.
Bunk houses surround the
main building, each designed to hold both campers and staff.
The bunk beds are big and comfortable, with two individual
shower/bath in each. Because it’s the south, each bunk
is fully air conditioned, and included a mini-kitchen with
a refrigerator and microwave.
Our campers have access to
two swimming facilities. An in-ground swimming pool, which
the campers will use most days, and a lake for special occasions.
Also on site in the park are a baseball diamond, dozens of
hiking trails, several camping sites, banquet hall, and equestrian
center.
We offer all of the traditional sports that make camp memorable
including Baseball, Soccer, Kickball, Volleyball, Basketball,
GaGa, and much more. There are many playing fields on our
campus, as well as throughout the park. Physical fitness and
team sports play an important role, in which campers can develop
on both a physical and social level.
